Hey all, I'm trying to design a new campaign and I'm having a few issues.
My campaign idea is that my players would play immortal characters that gather together as part of an elite secret society in Victorian London. As far as rules for immortality, the characters would function like Claire from Heroes: They can die,but unless they die under the right circumstances they can recover. This, as you can imagine, poses quite a few challenges:
Character build: I'd like to have the players keep their human limitations and not be unstoppable level 40 badasses, but at the same time it stands to reason that someone who's been alive multiple lifetimes would have learned a lot. I was thinking of dealing with this by limiting character level to 6 but giving 3x the normal skill points and feats. Any other suggestions?
Challenge: Another major problem I foresee is a lack of challenge, since these characters will recover for the most part from fatal injury. So what would normally be a nuisance for level 6 players will just be boring to these characters. On the other hand, if the characters are stopping an ancient evil every other week it quickly loses its grandeur.
Thanks in advance for your help!
